AvatarUX is a Malta-based slot studio founded in 2019 that built its reputation on one instantly recognisable idea: PopWins. In the mechanic, winning symbols 'pop' into two new symbols, growing the reels and multiplying the ways with every consecutive win. The studio launched commercially through Yggdrasil's YG Masters partner program in 2019 and later joined Relax Gaming's Silver Bullet network, giving its games wide global distribution. PopRocks and WildPops established the PopWins series, while CherryPop — with win potential above 56,000x — became the breakout hit; TikiPop, HippoPop and HipHopPop continued the line, and spin-off mechanics such as MultiPop, StickyPop and ZapReel extend the formula. PopWins won Game Mechanic of the Year at the 2023 CasinoBeats Game Developer Awards, and the wave of PopWins-style games from rival studios is perhaps the clearest measure of its influence. Recent releases include MonkeyPop, LooneyPop and Dyna Mule.
